About the Condominium
Founded in 1976 by a group of entrepreneurs led by lawyer, philosopher, and administrator Fábio Luiz Marinho Aidar, the Veleiros de Ibiúna condominium currently occupies an area of 1,512,935.00 m², which was formerly a "farm" with planted areas of orange and lemon trees, and another with a eucalyptus plantation. This land belonged to Judge Young da Costa Manso, former president of the São Paulo State Court of Justice (1981-2000), who also owned the entire area of Porto de Ibiúna. The clean and tranquil reservoir region was one of Aidar's main motivations for implementing the high-standard development.
His strong connection to the region (he owned a small property near the current Veleiros area for his personal use) and his deep knowledge of the reservoir's banks and extent were a great source of enthusiasm for realizing his dream, which also included expectations of financial return on the investment due to the potential appreciation of the area. Furthermore, the name Veleiros de Ibiúna (Ibiúna Sailboats) came about naturally due to the practice of nautical sports and the conditions offered by the reservoir, which served as a stage for beautiful regattas sponsored by the São Paulo Sailing Federation.
